Who We Are

Our History

EDC Lord takes its name from our founder Edwin David Charles Lord who began his legal practice in 1919 operating from premises in Southall, Middlesex. Over the next 30 years the firm flourished. After the Second World War, Edwin Lord decided to retire and the practice was acquired by Jim Langley and Bill West, but it continued to trade under the EDC Lord banner. The firm continued to thrive under its new owners, expanding by opening new branches in and around West London, and acquiring a number of other established legal practices along the way. In the 1980s the head office of the practice moved to Link House in Hayes and then in 2019, we moved to our new address: One The Square Heathrow, Southall Lane, Southall, UB2 5NH from where it continues to trade to this day. From a one man beginning the firm now employs over 50 legal, administrative and support staff in offices in Southall, and currently has 6 partners. We are proud of our heritage and the service we have provided to individuals and businesses over so many years. We are excitedly anticipating our 100th anniversary in 2019.

The 21st century brings with it new challenges and new opportunities. We at EDC Lord firmly believe that our track record of providing sound legal advice at proportionate cost and in the process acquiring many satisfied clients, who return to us time after time when our help is needed, will continue to be the foundation of our success. Everyone involved in EDC Lord at every level understands that outstanding client service is the absolute minimum requirement in everything we do. However, we also understand the important contribution of modern technology to our future performance and success. By improving and speeding up communication, by aiding research and helping us to keep abreast of the rapidly changing legal environment, technology and innovation helps us stay ahead of the pack, and provides our clients with yet another reason to instruct us.
